Extended Mathematics covers the same core MYP framework at greater depth and pace, typically for students continuing toward IB DP Math AA. Standard Mathematics covers the full curriculum at a steadier pace. Schools decide placement, usually by Grade 9–10.
The IB sets the framework (subject groups, criteria, concepts), but each school designs its own units and sequencing within that framework — so two MYP schools' Grade 8 syllabi can differ while both stay IB-compliant.
Math Compass's worksheet catalog offers tiered practice sheets (Starter through Enrichment) for available MYP Math units, generated and reviewed against MYP-aligned course content.
