ContentConceptual Understanding: This unit enables students to understand how they can represent their personal and cultural expressions through thoughtful artistic choices for their compositions. Topics: Elements of Art: Understanding the fundamental elements of art, such as line, shape, colour, texture, and form, is essential. Students should be able to identify and describe these elements in artworks. Principles of Art: Knowledge of the principles of art, including emphasis, through Line Dominance - Types of Lines, Shape Dominance - Geometric & Organic Shapes, Size Dominance - Proportions, Tone Dominance - 9-scale-value tone, Texture Dominance - tactile and implied, is crucial for comprehending how compositions are constructed. Cultural Awareness: Developing an awareness of various cultures, their artifacts, symbols, practices, and historical context is necessary for students to create culturally meaningful art. Artistic Techniques: Familiarity with various artistic techniques, such as drawing, painting, and Paper collage as well as the use of different tools and materials, is important for the practical aspect of creating 2D design compositions. Knowledge: Communication through Art: Understanding the concept of art as a form of communication allowing individuals to convey personal and cultural experiences and messages. Emphasis and Visual Hierarchy: Grasping the conceptual significance of emphasizing specific elements within a composition to guide the viewer's attention and convey intended meaning. Practically explore ideas to inform development of a final artwork or performance Media Exploration: Exploring various techniques using different art medium like: collage, painting (postercolour), colour pencils - while understanding tonal values (studying grayscale), colour scheme to show development of skills. Bii. Present a clear artistic intention for the final artwork or performance in line with the statement of inquiry.
